MEMBERSHIP

Admission is earned,
not purchased.

Sydney Forum is capped, vetted and convened around a single test: does this person make the room sharper? Here is what membership gives you, who we admit, and how to apply.

WHAT MEMBERSHIP GIVES YOU

Three things you can’t get from a conference badge.

01

The room, four times a year

Standing access to every closed-door forum and roundtable, held under the Chatham House rule. No tickets, no tiers of access, members attend everything.

02

A vetted directory of peers

Direct lines to 50 senior practitioners across advisory, law, banking and capital, the people you actually want on the other side of a workout.

03

A standing invitation to convene

Propose a roundtable, host a session, or bring a guest under member sponsorship. The forum is yours to shape.

WHO WE ADMIT

Seniority, judgement, and skin in the game.

We don’t count years or titles for their own sake. We look for practitioners who carry real responsibility in complex situations and who will give to the room as much as they take from it.

10+ years in the discipline
Restructuring, insolvency, special situations, distressed capital, or directly adjacent advisory, legal and banking roles.
Decision-making responsibility
Partner, director, principal or equivalent, you own outcomes, not just workstreams.
A contribution to make
A perspective, a network or an expertise that makes the forum more valuable for everyone in it.
A member introduction, ideally
Not required, but an introduction from a current member moves an application forward faster.
HOW TO APPLY

Three steps. Reviewed by people, not a form.

1

Submit your application

A short form: who you are, what you do, and what you’d bring. Ten minutes, no fee.

2

Board review

The advisory board reviews every application personally, on a quarterly cycle. We may ask for a brief conversation.

3

Welcome to the room

On admission, you’re introduced to the network and invited to the next forum. Annual dues apply from acceptance.

COMMON QUESTIONS
Is membership open to applications?
Yes, by application year-round, reviewed quarterly. Admission is capped to keep the forum intimate.
Do I need a member to refer me?
No, but an introduction helps. Many strong applicants apply on their own standing.
What if my work is adjacent, not core?
We welcome senior legal, banking, capital and advisory professionals whose work intersects with restructuring and special situations.
Can my firm sponsor a forum?
Selectively. Sponsorship is kept light-touch and never compromises the Chatham House rule. Contact us to discuss.
